Meeting Minutes:
We had a smaller group tonight (four people). But it was a nice meeting and we welcomed a new neighbor: Joseph.
A few notes on what we discussed:
1. Clean-up Day
We’d like to do a clean-up sooner than later before the fires start. Since we won’t meet again till August, we thought perhaps organize via email. Would someone like to take on organizing it? It’s a matter of setting the date, arranging any needed equipment from DPW, and getting the word out (those tasks can be shared of course).
2. Parcel 4 kiosk
No more information than Robert sent in the email earlier today. It sounds like Patrick is still in process to get insurance approved. It’s not clear whether it’s in Patrick’s court, Parks Alliance, or the city?
3. Parcel 3
Has anyone heard from the developer? (Sorry, I forget his name)
4. Parcel 1 bumblebees
I was weeding a little over a week ago on Parcel 1, and it seems I disturbed a bumblebee nest when I started putting some soil and rocks in what looked a hole that perhaps a dog dug under the fence.. It’s along the neighbor’s fence — if you are walking towards Howth (the end with the doggie station), the nest is on the left. It just looks like a bit of dent / hole in the ground. We talked about putting a sign up so that others don’t accidentally disturb them. (And I learned something… I didn’t know they lived communally in subterranean nests!)
